Clinica Tambre Madrid - FAQ
What is the average cost of IVF with own eggs at Clinica Tambre?

The average cost of IVF treatment, using your own eggs, with Clinica Tambre is between 5,000 and 8,000 Euros. The price will depend on which package you choose to go for, as the clinic has five different packages available for you.

The first package that they offer is available for 4,995 Euros and covers a normal IVF cycle where stimulation is over 10-12 days, and includes egg retrieval as well as an embryo transfer on day five.

The second package they have available is IVF with PGT-A screening. PGT-A screening is Preimplantation Genetic Testing, it checks the amount of chromosomes in the embryo and is done to ensure that there are no genetic issues with the embryo that is to be transferred, so that you will have a healthy embryo that will not develop any genetic abnormalities down the line. This package also includes the normal IVF cycle of 10-12 days, egg retrieval and embryo transfer on day five. This package has three options available and is all dependent on how many embryos can be analysed on day five. If you wish to have one embryo analysed it will cost 6,790 Euros, for two embryos it is 7,740 Euros, and for three or more embryos it will cost 8,490 Euros.

All embryos that are to be analysed will be in the laboratory for two-six days and will be continuously monitored to ensure that their development is on track and that no issues arise, this way you can be sure that your embryos are being taken care of while you are waiting for the day to arrive where the transfer will be performed.

What are the costs of popular IVF add-ons at Clinica Tambre?

Some of the more popular add-ons with Clinica Tambre are Comet testing, a GERI incubator and genetic matching.

Comet testing is a treatment that the clinic recommends all male partners undergo. The test is designed to look at the DNA fragmentation of the sperm, in order to see whether or not the sperm is the possible cause for the infertility being experienced, and this test is done in addition to a spermiogram. The cost for the Comet test, as well as the spermiogram and sperm freezing is 250 Euros.

The GERI incubator is a state-of-the-art incubator that has been designed in order to ensure that the embryos have almost no disturbance to their microenvironment and makes them feel like they are still in the uterus, thanks to the conditions it simulates. It is also used for time-lapse monitoring of the embryos to ensure their development is going smoothly and enables the clinic to get the best results, therefore giving you the best embryos. This is included in packages that contain PGT-A, but is available as an addition if you have opted for an IVF package without PGT-A, and will cost 495 Euros.

Another popular add-on with the clinic is genetic matching, which is a test designed to detect any recessive diseases in the genes of the mother and father, in order to ensure that the possibility of genetic disorders being passed on is decreased, of which it is able to detect over 360. The price for this test is 1,200 Euros.

What is the average cost of the egg donation cycle at Clinica Tambre?

The average cost of IVF treatment using egg donation at Clinica Tambre is between 5,900 and 13,000 Euros, and will depend on the package that you choose, of which the clinic has four available. Each of the first three packages includes the same treatments, with the only difference being the minimum number of embryos guaranteed that are transferred at the blastocyst stage. The first three packages are as follows:

  • Egg Donation Single. This package guarantees you a minimum of one blastocyst stage embryo and will cost 5,900 Euros.
  • Egg Donation Premium. This package guarantees you a minimum of two blastocyst stage embryos and will cost 7,900 Euros.
  • Egg Donation Premium Plus. This package can guarantee you a minimum of three blastocyst stage embryos and will cost 9,500 Euros.

The fourth and final package available when undergoing IVF using egg donation is Egg Donation Premium Genetics. This package includes PGT-A genetic testing, which is designed to check the number of chromosomes in the embryo to ensure that it has the correct amount and that there will be no genetic abnormalities in the embryo. You are guaranteed a minimum of three embryos at blastocyst stage, with a minimum of one embryo being a euploid embryo, which is an embryo that has the correct number of chromosomes and has a higher success rate when it comes to implantation. The cost for this package is 12,995 Euros.

When it comes to undergoing IVF with egg donation you are able to have your treatment with both fresh and frozen eggs, as well as your partner’s sperm or donor sperm.

What kind of egg donor ethnicities are available at Clinica Tambre?

If you are undergoing IVF treatment with egg donation at Clinica Tambre then you will have a wide range of options when it comes to the ethnicities of the egg donors, thanks to the clinic being able to offer all ethnicities such as: European, American, African and Asian. Depending on which ethnicity you wish to have for your egg donor there may be a little bit of a waiting time, or no waiting time at all, as it will depend on what they have available in their egg bank at the time of your treatment.

You are able to undergo your treatment with both fresh and frozen eggs, although if you choose frozen eggs you are able to choose the day of the transfer as the eggs are thawed based on the date of implantation. If you choose fresh eggs the clinic will need to synchronise both you and your donor’s cycles.

When it comes to the women who are chosen to be egg donors you can feel confident in the knowledge that all donors are tested to ensure that they have no health problems or a family history of health problems, as they will undergo psychological and genetic testing. They are also under the age of 35 to ensure the healthiest and most fertile eggs possible. Matching you with your donor can be done in two ways, the first being matching you to your donor based on your physical traits and blood type, this way the donor will match you as closely as possible in looks. The second way to match you and your donor is through genetic matching, to ensure that your genes are compatible with each other and will ensure no recessive diseases are passed to your future child. All donors are anonymous so you will not be able to know who they are or what they look like, as the matching will be done by your specialists.

What is the cost of PGT-A and how should it be calculated with IVF programs at Clinica Tambre?

If you are looking to have PGT-A testing with Clinica Tambre then you will be wondering about the additional cost for this testing, and unfortunately it does not come at an additional cost. If you wish for your embryos to undergo PGT-A testing then you will need to choose one of the IVF packages that include the test, as it cannot be added to a package without it either.

PGT-A is Preimplantation Genetic Testing and is used to ensure that the embryos that are to be implanted have the correct number of chromosomes, so that there are no genetic abnormalities or defects present that will impact the health of the embryo. Once this is determined and the embryo is seen to have the correct number of chromosomes it is called a euploid embryo, and it has a higher chance of success when it comes to implantation, as well as with pregnancy.

There are a few different packages that include this test and you can choose one of them if you are undergoing IVF with your own eggs or IVF with donor eggs. If you are undergoing IVF with your own eggs you can choose from three different packages, which are all the same other than the number of embryos that will be analysed, and this is IVF with PGT-A screening. You are able to have one, two or three embryos analysed and the costs for this are 6,790 Euros, 7,740 Euros, and 8,490 Euros respectively.

You can also choose a package that includes this test when undergoing treatment with donor eggs, and the name of this package is Egg Donation Premium Genetics, of which the cost is 12,995 Euros. If you are a female couple undergoing ROPA treatment you can also choose packages which include this test and the price depends on how many embryos get to day five, with one embryo costing 7,695 Euros, two costing 8,645 Euros and three embryos costing 9,385 Euros.

What is the cost of donor sperm from the bank at Clinica Tambre?

Donor sperm with Clinica Tambre will cost 495 Euros and thanks to their extensive donors they have most ethnicities available with no waiting list, so that you will be able to have the sperm ready for when you wish to start your treatment and need the sperm. Due to sperm donation being confidential you will be unable to know who your donor is, however the clinic will select the donor based on your physical traits to ensure as close a physical match as possible.

All of the donors that are accepted are over the age of 18 and in good physical health. Sperm donors with the clinic are required to undergo extensive physical and psychological testing to ensure that they are of sound mind and that their sperm will be as healthy as can be, to help your chances of success. Some of these tests include STI (Sexually Transmitted Infections) testing and Karyotype testing, which is a test that is performed that can rule out hereditary diseases as well as abnormalities within the chromosomes.

The clinic is also able to preserve the DNA of the donors, becoming the first clinic in the field of assisted reproduction to offer this in all of Spain. Thanks to this they are able to provide any descendants the genetic medical history, should they ever wish to know, and thanks to their preservation methods this analysis can last for decades.

Once your sperm has been selected it will be transported using tanks of liquid nitrogen that have been specially designed for this purpose, and sealed in secure packaging, to ensure the safety of the sperm during transport.

What is the average cost of the ROPA (IVF for same-sex female couples) cycle at Clinica Tambre?

The average cost of ROPA with Clinica Tambre is from 5,900 Euros to 9,395 Euros. They have five packages available at different prices, with the standard package including egg retrieval and embryo transfer on day five costing 5,900 Euros.

You also have available to you IVF with ROPA that includes PGT-A testing, which is Preimplantation Genetic Testing, a test designed to ensure the embryos have the correct amount of chromosomes so that there are no genetic defects or chromosomal abnormalities present. There are three different packages available, and they are all the same except for the amount of embryos that get to day five. Analysis of one embryo will cost 7,695 Euros, analysis of two embryos will cost 8,645 Euros, and analysis of three embryos will cost 9,395 Euros.

IVF using the ROPA method is also known as reciprocal IVF, and it is for female couples who will both share the process of motherhood with each other. One of the women will be the donor of the eggs and the other will have the eggs implanted in order to get pregnant, this way both women will feel fully involved in the treatment and the ensuing pregnancy. There will be donor sperm involved in this treatment and this will be selected by the clinic according to your physical traits to ensure as close a match as possible, and the donor will remain anonymous so you will be unable to see a picture or know who the donor is.

What is the average cost of embryo donation at Clinica Tambre?

IVF treatment using embryo donation is available at Clinica Tambre and they have one package available, meaning the average cost for treatment with embryo donation is 3,995 Euros. This treatment will involve an embryo being created for you by using donor sperm as well as an egg from a donor.

In order to discover whether or not you require embryo donation as a treatment you will talk to your specialist at the clinic who will also look at your medical history and run some tests to determine which course of treatment will work best for you and your partner, as sometimes the issue of infertility lies with the male partner. If you have any questions about your treatment or care with the clinic about embryo donation you will be able to talk with your specialist and/or patient coordinator who will be made available to you.

What are the average costs of intrauterine insemination and donor sperm insemination at Clinica Tambre?

The average cost of IUI (Intrauterine Insemination) is between 975 and 1,470 Euros, with the cost depending on whether the procedure is performed using your partner’s sperm or with donor sperm. For insemination using your partner’s sperm the cost is 975 Euros, and with donor sperm it will cost 1,470 Euros. Both prices include medical consultations with your specialists, as well as monitoring during your cycle, which can either be done remotely or in person at the clinic.

If you are using your partner’s sperm for this process then they will offer their sample on the day of insemination and the sperm will be studied to ensure that the best sperm cells, that have the best chances of fertilisation, are chosen. If you are using donor sperm this will also be ready on the day of insemination. With the donor sperm the physical characteristics of the donor will be lined up to match with yours as closely as possible, this will be done by the clinic as the donor will remain anonymous to you. The donor will have been examined both physically and psychologically, as well as having had tests done to ensure they are free of diseases that are both infectious and genetic. Genetic matching to look at whether there are any recessive diseases that may occur will also be performed and this can be done with whoever will be providing the sperm, be it your partner or a donor.

The IUI procedure is minimally invasive and because of this you will not require any medication to help with pain during the treatment, as there is very little to no pain involved. Some patients may feel a slight pinch and a little cramping, but that should be all.
