What is PMS?
PMS stands for premenstrual syndrome, and affects a women’s physical body, emotions and behaviours. Most commonly, women can experience sadness, irritability, anxiousness, tiredness, anger, unexplained crying, fatigue and headaches.
As many as three out of every four women will suffer from some degree of PMS and while its impact can be predictable, the extent of this impact can vary drastically from one woman to the next and can even have an impact on mental health.
PMS is really an umbrella term that covers as many as 100 different symptoms experienced during the luteal phase and so many of us might not even realise we’re suffering from PMS.
Some of the most common symptoms include feelings of upset, depression, anxiety, tension or irritation.
