Under current Polish law, fertility treatment is available to heterosexual couples. There is no legal upper age limit for women having treatment with their own eggs or donor eggs, although every patient’s eligibility is assessed individually by a fertility specialist.

In 2025, Klinika Bocian Poznań carried out 815 treatment cycles, including 664 IVF cycles with patients’ own eggs and 151 egg donation cycles.

The clinic’s facilities include two laboratories, one operating theatre and two recovery rooms, each designed to accommodate up to three patients. One recovery room also has an ensuite bathroom, offering additional comfort during treatment.

Klinika Bocian works in line with the PN-EN ISO 9001:2015-10 quality management standard, with certification valid until 27 January 2028.

Patients choose Klinika Bocian for its experienced medical team, modern fertility procedures, international patient support and competitive treatment costs. The clinic is also valued for its reported success rates, positive patient feedback and growing number of both Polish and international patients, including patients travelling from the United Kingdom and neighbouring countries.

In addition to Poznań, Klinika Bocian has clinics in other major Polish cities: Warsaw, Katowice, Szczecin, Białystok, Gdańsk, Łódź, Lublin, Rzeszów, and Kielce.

International patients are supported by an English-speaking team of consultants. Doctors, consultants, midwives and embryologists at the clinic communicate fluently in English, helping patients feel informed and cared for throughout the treatment process.

Each Bocian location offers embryology, andrology and diagnostic laboratories, an operating theatre, recovery rooms and an ensuite room for patients, creating a well-organised environment for IVF and fertility treatment in Poland.

His main area of clinical interest is polycystic ovary syndrome, also known as PCOS. He regularly takes part in fertility conferences in Poland and internationally.

International patients are also supported by an experienced team of fertility specialists, including Dr Weronika Pachura, Dr Joanna Kippen and Dr Wojciech Pieńkowski, who provide consultations in English. Dr Weronika Pachura also consults with German-speaking patients, while Dr Yevheniia Shypylova provides care in Ukrainian and Russian.

Both female and male fertility specialists are available, so patients can choose the doctor they feel most comfortable with.

Where possible, patients remain under the care of the same doctor throughout treatment. In some cases, another experienced specialist may carry out a procedure, such as egg retrieval, depending on scheduling and medical availability.

The IVF laboratory is run by a team of five embryologists and led by a senior embryologist with nine years of experience and ESHRE accreditation.

Patient Care at Klinika Bocian

Klinika Bocian in Poznań provides dedicated support for international patients from the first enquiry through to the completion of treatment.

English-speaking patients are cared for by experienced patient consultants. The wider team also speaks Ukrainian and Russian, helping ensure clear communication for patients from different countries.

For English-speaking patients travelling from outside Poland, Klinika Bocian offers a free initial online consultation between August and September 2026. Before the appointment, patients are asked to send their medical records, previous test results and a short medical history by email. This allows the fertility specialist to review the case in advance and provide more personalised guidance during the consultation.

Patient consultants are available by email, phone and WhatsApp, and enquiries are usually answered within 24 hours.

During visits to the clinic, patients are also supported by a dedicated midwife and their fertility doctor, helping to provide continuity of care at each stage of treatment.

Most fertility investigations, including blood tests, ultrasound scans and semen analysis, can be carried out at the clinic. Patients may also choose to complete some tests in their home country, although these arrangements need to be organised independently.

This flexible approach can help international patients reduce unnecessary travel while still making sure the clinic has the medical information needed before treatment begins in Poznań.

Embryo donation is also available, depending on embryo availability, with a similar waiting time of approximately 1–3 months.

Patients may receive non-identifying information about their donor, including blood type, ethnicity, education, previous pregnancies, age and phenotype. Caucasian egg donors are usually readily available, while donors from other ethnic backgrounds may require a longer waiting time.

Donor sperm is sourced through CRYOS, one of Europe’s leading sperm banks, giving patients access to a broad selection of screened donors.

IVF Success Rates at Klinika Bocian

Klinika Bocian focuses on achieving strong pregnancy outcomes while using a modern single embryo transfer strategy, which helps reduce the risk of multiple pregnancy.

In 2025, the clinic reported the following clinical pregnancy rates per embryo transfer for patients using their own eggs:

  • 59% for women under 35,
  • 42% for women aged 35–40,
  • 33% for women over 40.

For egg donation treatment, the overall clinical pregnancy rate was 65% per embryo transfer. This included 67% for fresh donor egg cycles and 50% for frozen donor egg cycles.

Across all age groups, Klinika Bocian reported a 53% clinical pregnancy rate following frozen embryo transfer, known as FET. For embryo donation treatment, the reported success rate was 57%.

The clinic performs embryo transfers almost exclusively at the blastocyst stage, on Day 5. On average, 1.12 embryos were transferred per procedure.

This careful, patient-centred approach allowed Klinika Bocian to combine encouraging pregnancy rates with a very low multiple pregnancy rate of 1% in 2025. It reflects the clinic’s focus on both treatment effectiveness and the safety of the patient and baby.
