About Cyprus IVF Hospital

Cyprus IVF Hospital first opened in 1995, although it operated under a different name, Famagusta Medical Centre Hospital, until 2017 when it changed the name. Upon obtaining their ISO 9001 certification, thanks to its excellence in care due to both the quality of treatment and the treatment itself, the clinic became the first in North Cyprus to hold this highly coveted certification.

Cyprus IVF Hospital is a very inclusive clinic and is accepting of more patients than most, with them able to offer treatment to women up to the age of 55, although those over 45 will require special permission for certain tests. The clinic is also accepting of patients from the LGBTQ+ community, and are able to offer treatment to lesbian couples, as well as to transgender and non-binary patients. For two mothers looking to have children, the clinic has a treatment called reciprocal IVF where both women will take part in the experience of bringing a baby into the world. If you are a patient who is unable to carry a child then the clinic will offer gestational surrogacy and will create embryos using the patient’s own gametes.

If you are over 48, you might be interested in reading these three amazing patient stories that had a happy ending at Cyprus IVF Hospital – “Overcoming Advanced Maternal Age and Complex Infertility Issues – Real Patient Cases.”

If you require a donor then this clinic is right for you, as they have access to a large and diverse donor network. Thanks to this diverse network of donors the clinic is able to offer treatment to patients of many nationalities and ethnicities (including Caucasian, Scandinavian, African, Asian, and Arab), to ensure that their needs are fully met. All donors, for both eggs, embryos and sperm, are given check-ups and their family and medical history is taken, to ensure that the donors are the healthiest donors available, this way the clinic can ensure that all donations you receive will be of the highest quality to ensure higher success rates.

A key aspect of the care provided by the clinic is their 24-hour care, which allows you access to their expertise at any time and on any day. Sometimes you may have a question on your mind about your treatment or a concern, and you don’t want to wait until opening hours, thanks to their 24-hour care you can ask your questions and have your concerns answered as soon as you can pick up the phone and dial their number, or contact them online if you prefer. And thanks to their multilingual staff you can have your questions answered in many different languages, so communication should be no issue at all.

Because the clinic has your comfort in mind they even offer three different types of treatment plans when it comes to your stay in Cyprus:

  • Option 1 – You have tests performed either in your home country or Cyprus but everything else is done in Cyprus, with you being required to travel there for a 1-time stay of 21 days.
  • Option 2 – You travel to Cyprus twice, once for 3 days and once for 7, totaling 10 days. Tests and medicine are all given in Cyprus but the medical protocol application is performed in your home country.
  • Option 3 – You travel to Cyprus one time for 7 days, but tests, medicine and the medical protocol application are all performed in your home country.

With all 3 options you are required to travel to Cyprus for fertilisation, egg collection and embryo transfer, but the rest is up to you.

IVF with Preimplantation Genetic Testing (PGT)

IVF with Preimplantation Genetic Testing (PGT) is an option for those seeking added genetic insight and control in their fertility journey. PGT is particularly recommended in the following cases:

  • One partner has or is a carrier of a serious inherited disorder, helping to reduce the risk of transmission to the child
  • A previous embryo presented chromosomal abnormalities, leading to early birth or miscarriage
  • Multiple unsuccessful IVF cycles or recurrent miscarriages
  • The female partner is over 35, as the risk of chromosomal abnormalities (aneuploidy) in embryos increases with age
  • Genetic disorders linked to the embryo’s gender are a concern

This program is offered at EUR 5,250.

PGT also provides the possibility of sex selection to prevent the inheritance of sex-linked genetic conditions like hemophilia, muscular dystrophy, and fragile-X syndrome. This allows couples to select female or unaffected male embryos, reducing the risk of passing on these disorders.

What is the cost of PGT-A and how should it be calculated with IVF programs at Cyprus IVF Hospital?

With PGT, the embryos can be tested for genetic mutation before they are transferred to the uterus. For this reason, PGT increases the chance of IVF success and increases the probability of having a healthy baby.

Patients with many inherited familial diseases can have their embryos tested to determine their genetic makeup. If parents have known gene mutations for a particular genetic disease, preimplantation genetic testing (PGT) can be considered. Patients with a history of single-gene disorders (such as cystic fibrosis, sickle cell anemia, SMA) and patients with a history of sex-linked disorders (such as Duchenne muscular dystrophy and Fragile X syndrome) would benefit from PGT being performed in their fertility treatment.

PGT makes it possible for couples, or individuals, who have, or who carry, serious inherited disorders to decrease the risk of passing the disorder on to their child. Furthermore, it is recommended that couples above 35 years old have the test performed, as they will be at a higher risk of having genetic disorders in their embryos. If you have a particular gender in mind for factors like family balancing (if you already have children of one gender and want a child of the other), you can be more confident that your family will be completed in the way you prefer and that your child will have the sibling that you want.

PGT-A testing prices are as follows:

  • PGT-A; 5 chromosomes (13, 16, 18, 21, 22 or 13, 18, 21, X, Y) for 2,000 Euros
  • PGT-A; 7 chromosomes (13, 16, 18, 21, 22, X, Y) for 2,500 Euros
  • PGT-A; 9 chromosomes (13, 15, 16, 17, 18, 21, 22, X, Y) for 2,750 Euros

The above prices are the same for up to 15 embryos.

You can also take advantage of the Pregnancy Guaranteed IVF Egg Donation Program. It is designed to help you achieve your desired pregnancy with peace of mind. Priced at a fixed rate of EUR 11,999, this comprehensive program is structured to reduce both psychological and financial stress.

The Pregnancy Guaranteed IVF Egg Donation Program includes up to three complete IVF cycles using donor eggs, with a 100% refund guarantee if pregnancy is not achieved after these cycles.

Each complete IVF cycle involves a fresh egg retrieval from either an existing or new donor, along with sperm collection from the partner to create a new set of embryos.

What is the cost of donor sperm from the bank at Cyprus IVF Hospital?

The cost of donor sperm with Cyprus IVF Hospital is 4,000 Euros. The reasons that you may require treatment with donor sperm are:

  • Some men may not have sperm cells in their semen. In such situations, sperm donation is an option for them. There are also cases where the patients want to avoid passing on a genetic disease to their offspring. These patients can go to a sperm bank where sperm is always evaluated according to international standards and frozen for storage. As with donor eggs, sperm samples are tested for infectious diseases like Hepatitis B, C, and HIV.
  • It is possible for a single woman to fulfill her desire to have a child through sperm donation – even through a sperm bank.
  • For sperm donors, we are working with European Sperm Bank and Cryos International.

As said above this is what is included in the price of 4,000 Euros. There will be more involved in the process, such as medications, mandatory tests, and accommodation. For accommodation, the clinic can help you with hotel reservations.

What is the average cost of the ROPA (IVF for same-sex female couples) cycle at Cyprus IVF Hospital?

How is the ROPA procedure performed? The partner contributing her oocytes (eggs) will go through the ovarian stimulation phase by using fertility medication, and also the egg retrieval process (the same process as conventional IVF treatment).

Following the egg retrieval process from the egg-providing partner, the eggs are fertilised in the laboratory with the given sperm (from an anonymous or a known donor) to generate the embryos. Once the embryos are created they are observed and kept in the lab until the day of transfer (blastocyst stage).

In the meantime, the partner who will be the gestational mother (carrying the baby) will start a treatment protocol to prepare her uterus for the embryo transfer.

Once the uterus of the gestational mother is ready for implantation, the best-quality embryo is implanted inside the uterus. This completes the ROPA procedure.
The average cost of undergoing ROPA at Cyprus IVF Hospital is 5,500 Euros. Included in this cost is:

For the donor
