About Clayo Clinic

Clayo Clinic is located on the 3rd floor of a modern, fully accessible building equipped with an elevator, ensuring ease of access for all patients, including those with mobility challenges. Inside, the clinic offers a welcoming and supportive environment, with additional services such as acupuncture, physiotherapy, and coaching available to enhance patient well-being. The facility includes one fully equipped laboratory, two operating theatres, and a shared recovery room with six beds, designed to provide comfortable post-treatment care in a calm and monitored setting. Clayo Clinic prioritizes safety and holds SUKL and ISO9001:2016 accreditation.

Clayo Clinic is a family-owned, independent fertility clinic founded in 1998 by Dr. Daniel Hlinka, PhD – a pioneer of human embryology in the former Czechoslovakia. Dr. Hlinka performed the country’s first ICSI fertilization in 1993 and has since helped thousands of couples achieve their dream of parenthood. His work and innovations in embryology have contributed to the birth of over 5,000 children.

Dr Daniel Hlinka, the owner of Clayo Clinic - pioneer in embryology and IVF
Dr. Daniel Hlinka, CEO, Clinic Owner, ESHRE Senior Embryologist, Head of Laboratory

Throughout his career – both at Clayo Clinic and previously at Prague Fertility Centre – Dr. Hlinka has introduced breakthrough techniques that are now widely used as standard practice in IVF clinics around the world. The clinic provides cutting-edge diagnostic tools and lab techniques such as Hybrid PGT-A (preimplantation genetic testing for aneuploidy), EmbryoScope time-lapse monitoring, assisted hatching, and EmbryoGlue to support embryo implantation.

For male fertility, Clayo Clinic uses a variety of sperm retrieval and selection methods including Optim ICSI, DNA fragmentation, MESA, TESE, LAISS, MACS, MFSS, LAZT, Microchip, and Swim-out to improve fertilisation outcomes. As an alternative to PRP (platelet-rich plasma) therapy, the clinic offers Sanakin®—an innovative treatment that uses the patient’s own blood to produce an autologous, cytokine-rich serum (ACRS).

This method helps regulate inflammation and supports tissue regeneration, making it a powerful tool in restoring the health of reproductive organs and increasing the chances of successful embryo implantation. Sanakin® stands out for its high concentration of anti-inflammatory cytokines and growth factors, and because it relies solely on the patient’s own blood, it’s a completely safe and natural approach.

Experience and Medical Team at Clayo Clinic

At Clayo Clinic, your journey to parenthood is guided by Dr. Daniel Hlinka, a pioneer in embryology. As the CEO and Clinic Owner, as well as an ESHRE Senior Embryologist and Head of Laboratory, he personally oversees the development of your embryos, ensuring the highest standards of care at every stage.

Dr. Hlinka played a key role in a groundbreaking moment in Czech reproductive medicine—he was behind the first successful fertilization using the ICSI method in the Czech Republic in 1993. ICSI procedure is where a selected sperm is injected into the egg under a microscope. He also developed a unique method called Optim ICSI, which helps identify the ideal moment of egg maturation. This approach increases the chances of creating high-quality embryos, giving you the best possible outcome for a healthy pregnancy.

“More than 20 years ago, I established the principle of fighting for every embryo, and I continue to uphold it today.” Dr. Daniel Hlinka

In 2010, Dr. Hlinka was among the pioneers worldwide to introduce continuous embryo monitoring using the Time-lapse System (TLS). This advanced technology allows embryos to develop undisturbed while capturing key moments of their growth. It provides valuable insights and enables more objective scoring, helping to select the embryos with the highest potential for a successful pregnancy.

What makes Dr. Hlinka’s story even more powerful is that, at the time, he had no idea how personally meaningful this breakthrough would become. Twelve years later, after facing his own challenges with infertility, he and his wife Zuzana turned to ICSI to build their family. In the spring of 2006, they welcomed their twins, Nikol and Samuel. Having experienced both the struggle to conceive and the joy of overcoming it, the Hlinkas found their passion in helping others do the same.

The clinic is ESHRE accredited, which means they meet strict European standards in reproductive medicine.
