Dr. Sofia-Paraskevi Trachana and Dr. Serafeim Pousias have been the expert duo leading My Fertility since 2021. Both renowned fertility specialists, their experience dates back to 2007 and 2011, respectively. Each year, they oversee more than 300 IVF cycles with patients’ own eggs and over 200 cycles with donor eggs, providing exceptional care and expertise to individuals and couples on their fertility journey.
They are committed to delivering personalized consultations, tailored treatments, and continuous care for individuals and couples pursuing IVF in Greece. The main collaborating IVF center is Hygeia IVF Embryogenesis Unit – Athens’ largest and most advanced fertility clinic – in which every patient receives outstanding care and support. A dedicated team of 14 embryologists works at Hygeia IVF Embryogenesis, looking after patients’ gametes and embryos, and performing procedures such as ICSI, PGT-A, and other advanced IVF lab techniques.

IVF Treatment Availability at My Fertility
My Fertility offers IVF treatment to women up to the maximum age of 54, including single women and same-sex female couples. However, certain medical restrictions apply: IVF is not available for individuals with HIV or HCV/HBV, whether male or female. These guidelines ensure safe and effective treatment tailored to each patient’s circumstances.

Experience and Medical Staff at My Fertility
Dr. Sofia-Paraskevi Trachana is a highly skilled Consultant Obstetrician and Gynecologist with a passion for helping individuals and couples achieve their dreams of parenthood. With extensive expertise in Fertility, Reproductive Endocrinology, and Onco-Fertility, she offers tailored care to patients seeking cutting-edge fertility solutions.
Dr. Trachana earned her medical degree from the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, Greece, in 2007. She completed her specialization in Obstetrics and Gynecology in 2017 at Alexandra General Hospital in Athens.
In 2016, she was awarded a PhD with honours from the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens. In 2016, she also received her MSc (with honours) in “Regenerative and Reproductive medicine”.
Dr. Trachana received advanced subspecialty training at the Fertility Unit of St Bartholomew’s Hospital (Barts Health NHS Trust) in London, one of the UK’s leading NHS fertility clinics. Her comprehensive experience spans all aspects of fertility treatment, including fertility preservation, reproductive surgery, and hormonal health.
Her special interest in Onco-Fertility sets her apart, as she is deeply committed to helping oncology patients preserve their fertility and maintain hope for the future.
She is a member of ESHRE (European Society of Human Reproduction and Embryology).
Dr. Serafeim Pousias is a Consultant Obstetrician and Gynecologist with a specialization in Fertility, Reproductive Endocrinology, and Surgery.
He completed his medical studies in 2010 at the University of Thessaly in Greece and went on to earn a Master’s degree in Reproductive Biology from the same university, receiving the grade “Excellent”. In November 2019, he earned a doctorate in Reproductive Medicine from Thessaly University’s Department of Medicine, also with the grade “Excellent”. By 2020, he finished his specialization in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Alexandra General Hospital in Athens. Between 2022 and 2023, Dr. Pousias served as a Fertility Specialist at TFP Fertility Clinic in Vienna, Austria, where his work focused on assisted reproduction, fertility preservation, and reproductive surgery.
He is certified in Advanced Life Support in Obstetrics (ALSO), International Ovarian Tumor Analysis (IOTA), and holds a Bachelor’s degree in and Endoscopic Surgery (ESGE, Belgium). Dr. Pousias is an active member of ESHRE and the Hellenic Society of Obstetrics and Gynecology.

IVF Success Rates at My Fertility
In 2023, the overall clinical pregnancy success rate for egg donation per embryo transfer (not cumulative) was 70%. For IVF with own eggs, the overall clinical pregnancy success rate per embryo transfer (not cumulative) was 65%.
Success rates for IVF with own eggs vary by age:

- women aged 35–40 – 65%,
- patients over 40 – 45% when PGT-A is used.
