How your cycle will be managed, and by whom

  • From day one, you’ll know exactly who is responsible for your cycle. Your team will know you by name, and you’ll be in direct contact with your doctor at every stage. When you choose Ferrobelab, you become part of our family, and we truly mean it.
  • More than just an IVF cycle. Your journey starts with an in-depth consultation. Your doctor goes through your full medical history, past treatments and diagnoses with you, then builds your treatment plan and individualised stimulation protocol around you.
  • Your doctor: Dr. Fernando Rodríguez Belmonte. Your cycle is personally supervised by Ferrobelab’s Medical Director, who has more than 20 years of experience.
  • Your embryos: Estefanía Coca de la Prada. Every step in the IVF laboratory is overseen by our Head of Embryology, who has more than 32 years of experience.
  • Initial medical consultation
  • All consultations and ultrasound scans at the clinic until treatment is complete
  • Qualification tests (if applicable):
    • For you:
      AMH, FSH, LH, E2, TSH, PRL, anti-TPO, progesterone and ultrasound scan
    • For your partner:
      semen analysis and sperm freezing (if applicable)
    • For both of you:
      – karyotype test (if not done before)
      – blood group tests
  • Ovarian stimulation supervised by the Medical Director (at the clinic or online)
  • Egg retrieval (ovarian puncture) under general anaesthesia
  • Donor sperm (if applicable)
  • Semen preparation
  • Oocyte maturation and assessment supervised by the Head of Embryology
  • ICSI (intracytoplasmic sperm injection) fertilisation
  • Advanced lab techniques for male factor infertility, such as IMSI, MACS and FertileChip (if applicable)
  • Assisted hatching (if applicable)
  • Blastocyst culture
  • EmbryoScope time-lapse incubation and monitoring up to day 5
  • 24-hour embryo monitoring throughout the 5-day development period
  • RI Witness™ system, which uses RFID tags to track your eggs, sperm and embryos at every step in our IVF laboratory
  • EmbryoGlue or cytokine-enriched transfer medium (if applicable)
  • Fresh or frozen embryo transfer at the blastocyst stage (day 5)
  • Vitrification of any surplus embryos, with one year of storage included
  • Frozen embryo transfers using your surplus embryos, included until pregnancy is achieved

You will need to cover your own flights and accommodation. You will also pay for your medication, both for ovarian stimulation and before and after the embryo transfer, and for any tests and monitoring done in your home country before and during treatment. PGT-A genetic testing of embryos and embryo biopsy are not included either (if applicable). Storage of any embryos left once you are pregnant is not included.

Launched in 2014, our groundbreaking Fertility Journey project came to life when we partnered with many leading fertility experts worldwide.

Since then, 32 free IVF cycles have been given away! 

The free IVF cycles are offered by IVF clinics abroad and IVF clinics in the UK.

The emotional Fertility Journey to start or extend your family with IVF treatment can be a long, physical and emotional stress upon you and your partner.

The concept was and is still simple. To help people who are looking to start a family and are either in need of funding partly due to NHS cuts or the lack of funds or those that may have had repeated failed IVF treatments and need a medical team to take a more personalised look at their treatment plan.

We also wanted to follow the patient’s journey from the beginning. To bring infertility into the light and share the real journey of being diagnosed as infertile.
